About The Mix

This is an acoustic Song that I mixed for Evan and he was gracious enough to let me upload the session files so I could break down the mix and show you my technique.  Some may question the that there was a lot of processing going on.  The fact is when any singer/songwriter records at home, more often than not they are not set up in the most ideal situation.  It could be equipment or room factors that mess with the overall sound.  In most of these cases a lot of corrective measures have to be taken.  Take some ideas from this and hopefully it inspires you on your next mix 🙂

    Hi,

with some luck i came across your tutorial and thanks a lot. I think it’ll really gonna help me. I am a newbie to this.

One question. Could you recommend anything different than “IQ4gui Dynamic EQ” as it seems to make REAPER crash.

    Thanks again for this. Toto

That’s the problem with that plug-in. I like the Waves c1-sc but it isn’t cheap. If you wait you can get it on sale for like $29 or in the silver package which I’ve seen on sale for $150 and I use a lot of those plug-ins all the time. Cheers

        Hi Justin,

thanks alot for the quick reply and the tip. I’ll have a look. 🙂
And thanks for this great tutorial. It really helps not just understanding the mixing process, it great to find some good plugins too. Which I find a big problem if you’re a newbie to home recording.

        Keep up the good work!

        Toto
