Yep, you read the title correctly – this is the long and tedious way to fix vocal timing issues.  But when used correctly you can really fix and sometime save a performance.

I understand that this method is not going to be for everyone because it does take time and a lot of discipline.  Let’s be honest, we all want to move on the fun stuff like compression, EQ and even the effects but I would argue that the timing is actually way more important than any of those techniques.

    Pretty interesting technique. It’s something I think I’ll definitely try out. I don’t mind putting in the time to fix those timing issues. I was curious about your automation going on those on the vocals. Care to share your concept behind that?

      Hey Bolu.

      It’s clip gain automation that I’m using on the vocals because of how dynamic they were. I’m just making many little corrections to get the vocals in more of a “pocket”.
